This is a post that compiles interesting, newsy bits from a variety of sources, happening around the world, that I feel have Biblically prophetic, end-times significance :

4 Marines and Naturalized Islamic gunman killed in Tennessee shootings others injured:

Four Marines were killed on Thursday by a gunman who opened fire at two military offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before being fatally shot in an attack officials called a brazen, brutal act of domestic terrorism.th (138)

The Federal Bureau of Investigation named the suspect as Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, but said it was too early to speculate on a motive for the rampage, which comes at a time when U.S. military and law enforcement authorities are increasingly concerned about the threat posed by “lone wolves” to domestic targets.

NBC News reported that Abdulazeez was a naturalized American who was born in Kuwait. U.S. law enforcement officials said they were investigating whether he was inspired by Islamic State or a similar group.

Earthquakes in different places:

A Rare M 6.5 earthquake strikes the Southeast Caribbean near Barbados.  Over the past 7 days (leading up to July 16) there has been only one M6.0plus earthquake globally.  Normally, there are 2-3 M 6.0 plus earthquakes per week around the world.

American news sources have largely ignored the aftermath of the 2011 Fukushima Nuclear disaster:

* Some of the spent fuel rods in the Fukushima Nuclear plant are still at large.  Japanese have continued to pour water on wreckage to keep the wreckage cool.  Fukushima is seaside with mountains behind it.  Any precipitation flows downhill and past Fukushima to the sea.  Despite best efforts the radiated fish and high levels of radiation are still being found in Japanese waters and traveling west.

After the disaster, winds initially were out to sea but soon turned and began to blow inland.  This poses ongoing dangers to all Japanese food sources.  Expect to see more variety in thyroid, leukemia and other cancers, especially in sensitive children who were exposed, in coming years.

Officials:  Fukushima has contaminated 1/3 of World’s Oceans–ongoing

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), seeking to promote the peaceful use of Nuclear Power, in 2011 established with the Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) Member States, a joint IAEA Technical Cooperation (TC) project in the region of the Pacific Ocean. It was established after the Fukushima disaster when a tsunami caused by a major earthquake on 11 March 2011, disabled the power supply and cooling of three Fukushima Daiichi reactors, causing a nuclear accident. As a result a large quantity of radioactive material was admitted into the Pacific Ocean.

Of no surprise, this caused great concern to countries based around the Pacific Ocean due to the potential economic and environmental implications. The TC project’s aim was therefore, to monitor the presence of radioactive substances in the marine environment.

The Fukushima Endgame: The Radioactive Contamination of the Pacific Ocean

Michel Chossudovsky (CRG) : Nuclear radiation resulting from the March 2011 Fukushima disaster –which threatens life on planet earth– is not front page news in comparison to the most insignificant issues of public concern, including the local level crime scene or the tabloid gossip reports on Hollywood celebrities.

The tank farm keeps growing as water decontamination equipment continues to fail and highly contaminated water keeps leaking into the Pacific.

The shaky political consensus both in Japan, the U.S. and Western Europe is that the crisis at Fukushima has been contained.

The truth is otherwise. Known and documented, the ongoing dumping of highly radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean constitutes a potential trigger to a process of global radioactive contamination.

This water contains plutonium 239 and its release into the Ocean has both local as well as global repercussions.  A microgram of plutonium if inhaled, according to Dr. Helen Caldicott, can cause death:

Certain isotopes of radioactive plutonium are known as some of the deadliest poisons on the face of the earth. A mere microgram (a speck of darkness on a pinhead) of Plutonium-239, if inhaled, can cause death, and if ingested, radioactive Plutonium can be harmful, causing leukemia and other bone cancers.

“In the days following the 2011 earthquake and nuclear plant explosions, seawater meant to cool the nuclear power plants instead carried radioactive elements back to the Pacific ocean. Radioactive Plutonium was one of the elements streamed back to sea.”(decodescience.com).

It would appear that the radioactive water has already penetrated parts of the Japanese coastline:

Environmental testing of shoreline around the nuclear plant (as well fish, especially Tuna) showed negligible amounts of Plutonium in the seawater. The Plutonium, from what little is reported, sank into the sediments off the Japanese coast.”  (Ibid)

20130907_fukushima_fish_reutersA recent report suggests that the Japanese government is intent upon releasing the remaining radioactive water into the Ocean. The proposed “solution” becomes the cause of radioactive contamination of both the Japanese coastline as well as the Pacific Ocean, extending to the coastline of North America.

While the chairman of the Nuclear Radiation Authority recognizes that the water in the tanks is heavily “tainted”, a decision has nonetheless been taken to empty the tanks and dump the water into the Ocean:

The head of Japan’s nuclear watchdog said contaminated water stored at the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant should be released into the ocean to ensure safe decommissioning of the reactors.

Shunichi Tanaka, the chairman of the Nuclear Regulation Authority, made the comment Dec. 12 after visiting the facility to observe progress in dismantling the six reactors. The site was severely damaged in the tsunami generated by the 2011 earthquake.

“I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of tanks (holding water tainted with radioactive substances),” Tanaka told reporters, indicating they pose a danger to decommissioning work. “We have to dispose of the water.”

With regard to expected protests by local fishermen over the discharge, Tanaka said, “We also have to obtain the consent of local residents in carrying out the work, so we can somehow mitigate (the increase in tainted water).”

Tanaka has said previously that to proceed with decommissioning, tainted water stored on the site would need to be released into the sea so long as it had been decontaminated to accepted safety standards.

“While (the idea) may upset people, we must do our utmost to satisfy residents of Fukushima,” Tanaka said, adding that the NRA would provide information to local residents based on continuing studies of radioactive elements in local waters.

The inspection tour was Tanaka’s second since he became NRA chief in September 2012. He last visited in April 2013.

During his visit, Tanaka observed work at a trench on the ocean side of the No. 2 reactor building, where highly contaminated water is being pumped out. He also inspected barriers set up around the storage tanks to prevent leaks of tainted water.

Tanaka praised the completion in November of work to remove all spent nuclear fuel from the No. 4 reactor building, as well as changes to work procedures that he said allows for the completion of the work at the No. 2 reactor trench.  Hiromi Kumai , NRA Head Signals Massive Release of Tainted Water to Help Decommission Fukushima Site Asahi Shimbun December 13, 2014.

The contradictory statements of  the NRA chief  avoid addressing the broader implications, by giving the impression that the issue is local and that local fishermen off the Fukushima coast will be consulted.

Japan set to restart first nuclear power plant since Fukushima disaster

Kyushu Electric Power Co. on Tuesday began loading fuel into its Sendai nuclear power plant in Satsuma-Sendai, Kagoshima Prefecture. About 157 fuel assemblies have been loaded into the No. 1 reactor at the Sendai nuclear power plant, which is set to go back online in mid-August.

fukushima_satou_sachiko_klr_8287via Telegraph.co.uk / July 8th, 2015 / The government announces September 5 as the date 7,401 residents of Naraha town in Fukushima prefecture can return home for the first time since the 2011 nuclear disaster.

More than 7,000 residents from a Fukushima town completely evacuated following the 2011 nuclear crisis will be able to return home permanently from September, the Japanese government has announced.

The 7,401 residents of Naraha will become the first evacuees able to return home permanently among the seven Fukushima municipalities whose entire populations were ordered to leave following the crisis.

The lifting of the first evacuation order will take place more than four years after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami damaged nearby Fukushima nuclear power plant.

However, it was not immediately clear how many residents from Naraha, which is around two miles from the plant, will want to return to their hometown from September 5, due to lingering radiation concerns and lack of infrastructure.

“There are no shops. There are no doctors. I don’t know what to do,” one woman told local media.

Naraha’s rehabilitation as a livable town began in March when the government announced that its decontamination was completed, with radiation contamination down 60 per cent from 2011 levels to 0.3 microsievert per hour.

The following month, residents were allowed to return home for three-month stays in preparation for a permanent return when the evacuation order was lifted, with 688 people from 326 households taking part in the initiative.

This week, the government confirmed the September 5 return date for all Naraha residents to return permanently, after assessing with local authorities the airborne radiation levels and monitoring how infrastructure was being improved as well as consulting with residents.

The new evacuation order will permit the biggest homecoming of Fukushima evacuees since the 2011 disaster, with a total of 7,401 residents from 2,704 households allowed to live at home once again.

Japanese Physicians link spike in Cancer to Fukushima radiation

(NaturalNews) Cancer rates in many areas of Japan are on the rise following the global catastrophe at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility back in March 2011. And some Japanese doctors now caring for all those radiation refugees who were shipped out from areas surrounding the nuclear plant after it exploded say fallout from the disaster is likely to blame for this massive uptick in disease.

The German media group Deutsche Welle (DW) reports that many radiation refugees are having to watch as their family members and pets suffer gruesome fates at the hands of what appears to be radiation poisoning. One elderly woman told reporters that her dog lost all the hair around his neck, his skin turned black, and he eventually died, all signs that suggest a link to radiation.

Many people are also suffering, as evidenced by tests revealing an increase in thyroid damage among folks who lived in close proximity to the plant. One local doctor from Namie, a town located about 5.6 miles (9 km) from the Fukushima plant, has been examining patients ever since the disaster and is convinced that Fukushima radiation is causing a major public health crisis.

“Children and young people are particularly vulnerable to the uptake in radioactive iodine in their thyroid,” says Dr. Shunji Sekine, a retired physician with a medical practice in the city of Nihonmatsu, which is currently housing some 230 relocated families who evacuated other areas following the Fukushima disaster, as quoted by DW.

“Although comprehensive studies are missing, I see a connection between nuclear accidents and the occurrence of cancer,” adds the specialist in both thyroid and breast cancer, noting that he has observed a significant increase in both conditions following the nuclear catastrophe.

Cancer rates nearly four times higher than world average near Fukushima

Cancer rates have been rising all across the region, in fact, with the latest data showing that 13 out of every 100,000 inhabitants, including many young children, are coming down with some form of cancer. Based on world averages for cancer, this represents a cancer rate that is nearly four times higher than the norm.

“According to official figures, 33 cancer cases have been identified in about a quarter of a million children and teenagers since the beginning of February,” reads the DW report. “This translates into 13 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants, a figure almost four times higher than the world average for all age groups.”

Forced evacuations exposed people to more radiation; Japanese government knew all along

The Japanese government has, perhaps not surprisingly, continued to downplay the severity of the situation, advising “further investigations” in order to avoid pinning the rise in disease on Fukushima. But the phenomenon almost exactly matches what occurred following the Chernobyl disaster, as well as the uptick in cancer rates following the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the U.S. during World War II.

Many of the people being diagnosed with radiation-associated diseases were also forced to trek through areas during their evacuation that had become poisoned by radioactive particles that drifted from the stricken plant. According to Dr. Sekine, who out of the kindness of his own heart is now allowing victims in his area to use a full-body screening machine to test for radiation poisoning annually, the forced relocation of these folks by the Japanese government actually exposed them to more radiation.

“Only four days after the explosion of the nuclear reactor, orders were given to evacuate the town of Tsushima in the northwest,” adds DW. “This led to the refugees being transported through the invisible radioactive cloud, resulting in even more exposure to contamination than if they had stayed at home.”

“Officials in Tokyo knew this from their computer models. But they remained silent, as they feared a widespread panic.”

Hi Bob, What an interesting question. I don’t think that the Fukashima radiation is a factor in the California Wildfires. I am by no means an expert in that field but, I suppose that it is possible that the radiation that has drifted into California could be raised back into the air due to the fires and uplifts of thermals etc… I have also heard some conjecture that the wildfires have coincidentally cropped up at the sites of dormant volcanoes in California which have been experiencing some earthquake activity. Something to watch. However, mainly I believe that the fire situation there is a result of the very severe drought conditions. As we see in Bible times with ancient Israel, increasing drought, famine and then war were gradual means of judgment by God to try to turn his people back to Him. We need to be earnestly praying for repentance for our nation and revival in our country.
