There’s Gold in them thar Hills!

Rushing Waters

Rushing Waters

The setting of Fever Season moves from the Reconstruction train wreck of Mississippi to the adventure and opportunity of the gold rush of Colorado.  New fresh riches change your perspective.  Gold Nuggets can be life changing and I found  a good -sized one the other day as I was reading Walking in the Supernatural by Bill and Beni Johnson.  In Chapter 26 Johnson offers this priceless nugget:

” It’s difficult to get the same fruit as the early Church when we value a book that they didn’t have more than the Holy Spirit they did have.  To value the Scriptures above the Holy Spirit is idolatry.  It’s not ” Father, Son and Holy Bible” The Bible reveals God, but is itself not God”.

While I ( and the author mentioned above) recognize the Bible as the inspired Word of God and absolute truth from cover to cover…it is not a replacement for the powerful presence of God as evidenced by the Holy Spirit.  If the Holy Spirit is active and working in your life( …or in your church),there is going to be fruit popping out all over the place (Galatians 5:22-23) and His gifts will be valued and sought after as gold nuggets( 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:11, I Cor 14:39).  This is the Gold Rush that Jesus predicted for the Feast of Pentecost that  turned the world upside down over 2000 years ago.( Acts 2:37-47) This is the Gold Rush we need now.

Sally! How important and enlightening! You are absolutely right! Thanks for that! It’s amazing how it takes so long to figure these things out. As far as I have come in my walk, I feel just barely across the starting block. Thanks for this eyeopener!
